Saving Face

Commissioned by TVNZ for Anzac Day, Saving Face tells the story of the beginnnings of plastic surgery in the hospitals of World War One. Two New Zealand surgeons helped create a new branch of surgery that changed the face of the war. Disfigurement from shrapnel and bullet wounds was often horrific and pioneering surgical techniques helped hundreds of those men lead normal lives again.
